Sildenafil and tadalafil must not be combined with organic nitrates. Tell the clinician about nitroglycerin, isosorbide products, recreational nitrites or “poppers,” and riociguat.

Discuss alpha blockers, blood-pressure medicines, antifungals, antibiotics, HIV medicines, other ED treatments, supplements, alcohol, and recreational drugs.
Compounded products
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. A formula containing an FDA-approved ingredient is not itself FDA-approved.
Bremelanotide and PT-141
Bremelanotide is FDA-approved for a specific indication in certain premenopausal women, not for male erectile dysfunction.

Urgent symptoms include chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, sudden vision or hearing changes, severe allergic reaction, or an erection lasting four hours or longer.
